roof and the rock was filled with mud and rubble. The thieves went down through this filling over the roof, and we followed. The chamber was three-quarters full of dirt. In the southwest corner is an enormous red granite coffin with lid thrown off. [ILLUSTRATION]
Against west wall are two rubble platforms. In the debris were found some small wooden figures of prisoners with arms tied back [12-12-209] [ILLUSTRATION]. Also an alabaster saucer [12-12-210], usual small type [ILLUSTRATION], and a fragment of copper [12-12-211].

Began building workroom north of present workroom, which is too small for books and records. New room 11 x 5 meters inside measurement and five windows on north.

Wednesday, December 25, 1912

Last afternoon about one hour before sunset, shifted gangs to G 2000 (= Lepsius 23), northern niche. Today worked on roof of niche, throwing dirt out on east face, where it was shoveled into the carts.

At the Senedem-ib group, went on with G 2378 A and G 2379 A. The sloping passage G 2378 A and its chamber were cleared.
