I went in town on business and Dunham and Wheeler carried on until I got back about 11 a.m.
Wheeler drew plan of beams behind coffin, scale 1:5; pages 1532-3, including ends south of coffin.

Turned back top sheet (i.e. back of beam) as it lies. Exposed fairly complete wooden post, badly affected by fungus. Copper staple near each end and four gold staples on east edge (drawn in red in page 1532-3.
*A4449: No. 1455 as is, looking south.
Treated wood of 1455 with celluloid solution.

Dunham and Wheeler packed up Nos. 1454 and 1450 and sent up. I returned at this point.
