Continued removing objects of large sheet (No. 509).
Nos. 506: (13)-(25) these were buried in about half a cm of dark dust (wood mainly). Over and in this dust were many small fragments (scraps) of very thin black patinated gold, some of bright gold, and some fragments of plaster. Cleared away this dust and exposed a few more inlays etc. lying on top of the sheet (509).
West of (509) decayed wood apparently from (Z)-4.
No. 507: This decayed wood.

Removed 508:
(1)-(20) inlays and gold frame along west wall.
(1)-(5) were from (Y)-1 lattice.
(6)-(8) and (11)-(20) were from (Z)-4.
(9)-(10) were from wing.
No. 506: (26)-(31) rest of inlays, etc on sheet (509).
No. 509: This is a complete sheet from the west end of the northern bar of bed. The east edge lay under (that is, was overlapped over) the west edge of the sheet still in place. The bar was as usual semi cylindrical [ILLUSTRATION].
The bed being upside down as previously stated, the bar fell with the flat side down [ILLUSTRATION] and the curved part of the gold sheet open out to north. The flat top was held down by the weight of the wood. The wood decayed and produced part at least of the wood dust which lay over the whole sheet. Further east, a line of decayed wood is distinctly visible lying over the flat part of the sheet. No. 509 rested directly on the original floor dust except for the end of (S) and a few scraps under the northwest corner.
