No. 1193: potsherds (continuation of 1191). A4391.
(1-48) fragment of red ware tub, red ware bowl as 1075, red polished bowls [ILLUSTRATION] and [ILLUSTRATION], WSR jar, and red ware lid (?) [ILLUSTRATION].
(49) swept up at this level.

*A4393: area of cloth (1195) and boxes west of 1193 and 1194, looking east.
*A4394: gold poles etc. south of coffin, looking east.

No. 1195: the cloth and box in foreshore of 1194 and running east under 1194. At present this cannot be exposed until pottery is moved. Pottery supports beam 1174 etc. In order to get at beam 1174 had to set leg of table in midst of 1195. Therefore cut a square out of 1195.
*B6089: looking east.
a) "gray muck" (cloth/to a depth of 1.5 cm underneath a layer of east west wood (bottom of box). Under wood clean limestone rock.

No. 1374: large beam, the gold case remains at each end but the rest has already been removed (see above). The copper sheath of the bottom remains in place (complete), but bent at edge of coffin.

Approached thin board (12 cm wide) as broken line x-x: laid on lower end opposite (a), a sheet of zinc, (150 x 20 cm), underneath it. Lifted (a) and shoved zinc underneath it. Raised board, zinc and (a) to a horizontal position: placed sheet of zinc (200 x 20 cm) opposite (b) and lifted whole beam over outer zinc. Approached large board 330 x 25 cm and drew sheets of zinc together with beam onto large board. Lifted whole onto table. Withdrew zinc.
Completely successful, no damage. The beam was already cracked in places but all holds together.
