Very hot day.
I copied first eighteen pages of notes on tomb G 7000 X.

Wednesday, June 23, 1926

The night from June 22 - 23 was hot and wind still. Minimum 28 degrees centigrade. About 5:30 p.m. heavy north wind with dust. Settled about 6:00 p.m. to steady cool north wind.

No. 570: The wooden pole in which no. 553 (copper staple) was set, represented by fragments of decayed wood, scraps of plaster and for some distance, by a ridge of gray powder.

Removed fragments and cleaned away gray powder as far as (S)-inlays which lie on top of 570 at east.

No. 571a: Northwest corner of east-west boarding overlying 564 and 571b
No. 571b: A broken stick lying over 564 and running to north side of 570.

Over the whole area of the floor under the bed from 564 to south to pile of bowl, is visible a badly decayed east-west boarding. The north edge is not traceable north of 564. The south edge appears to be on top of the pile of bowls (as to S). The west edge as seem as bowl 563 is 8 cm from west wall. On east edge is obscure but thin boarding is visible at least 85 cm from west wall.
