(1) G 7000 X
Dows finished scale plan of new area south of pit.
Lucas came and we (Dows and I and Lucas) went down to examine the organic materials.
In Lucas' opinion the complete decay of the wood was due to fungi. Also the stains on the edge of the coffin lid and the spiculae of the canopy cover were due to fungi. He argued that there was nothing left to preserve as far as we have gone except the samples of wood, which we have rescued.
(2) G 7060
Cleared the street in front of G 7060 to the end.
[ILLUSTRATION]
The layers of debris are in continuation of those further north but slope down to south. The street is paved with limestone blocks.
(3) G 7000 SW (southwest)
Continued examination of the area of the rubble structure south of G 7060 etc.
[ILLUSTRATION]
There can be no doubt that we have in this structure a construction plane or planes for some building later than G 7070.
