…accompany him to the Sudan, should remain behind to superintend the work for our Museum. This arrangement seemed to strike Dr. Reisner as very acceptable, and he readily agreed to it. In exchange for my services on the Boston Expedition, the Philadelphia Expedition obtains a small but interesting site to work, the loan of an efficient body of workmen under one of the best reises in Egypt and the temporary services of Mr. Story, whose salary will continue to be paid by the Boston Museum. This was all decided this afternoon, and we will have to make very rapid preparations, as Dr. Reisner has made all railway and steamship arrangements to start next Wednesday night – day after tomorrow. I have arranged for Mr. Story to meet me at Shellal on the way down from the Sudan, and we will then visit various sites between Shellal and Cairo.
