…finally they were allowed to leave the country. They all had to leave their wives and children behind in Baghdad, and had had no news of them since. [Added later by Mr. Fisher: Mr. Cree was the Baghdad agent of Messrs. Blockey, Hotz and Co., and was the agent of the University Museum during the years of its excavations at Nippur.]
The day was very hot.
